Research goal
Peptides and healing and recovery
Most healing evidence for these peptides comes from rats, not people: of 36 BPC-157 studies in one review, 35 were preclinical.73 Human data are thin: the three BPC-157 studies in people had 30 participants and no control group.1 One of the few controlled positive results is a 1994 trial of a copper peptide (GHK-Cu) gel on diabetic foot ulcers.2 This page maps what published sources report on each peptide searched with healing and recovery, and makes no promise.

Tissue repair peptides
BPC-157
BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid peptide based on a protein found in human gastric juice.3 In rats it improved healing of cut Achilles tendons, quadriceps muscle and knee ligaments.161710 In rat gut studies summarized by FDA, fistulas in treated rats were about 40% smaller from day 3.18 A 2026 systematic review found only three human studies, 30 people in all with no control group, and rated the certainty of evidence very low.1 See What is BPC-157? and BPC-157 for sale.
TB-500
Evidence for TB-500 itself comes from animal and cell studies, with mixed results.1920 In a 2026 rat study, repaired Achilles tendons treated with TB-500 had better tissue scores and a strength advantage at 4 weeks.19 In a 2024 cell study, TB-500 did not speed scratch-wound closure, though one of its breakdown products did.520 Its parent protein, full-length thymosin beta-4, increased skin regrowth over rat wounds by 42% at 4 days.21 FDA states the two are not the same substance.5 FDA's May 2026 review found no article in which TB-500 was given to people, and a lack of evidence to evaluate it for wound healing.5 See What is TB-500? and TB-500 for sale.
Wolverine Stack
The Wolverine Stack pairs BPC-157 with TB-500. Its evidence is one rat Achilles tendon study, in which combining the two added no benefit over either alone.22 The human reports are small and uncontrolled. In a knee-pain chart review, 3 of 4 patients given BPC-157 with full-length thymosin beta-4 (not TB-500) reported improvement.23 Three dental nerve-injury patients received BPC-157 and TB-500 along with ARA-290, a steroid and a local anesthetic, and the authors note that causality cannot be established.24 FDA's 2026 review describes a person who had significant adverse reactions after a BPC-157 and TB-500 injection product labeled for research purposes only.25 See What is Wolverine Stack (BPC-157 + TB-500)? and Wolverine Stack (BPC-157 + TB-500) for sale.
GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu has one of the few controlled human healing results on this page.2 In a 1994 randomized, placebo-controlled trial in diabetic foot ulcers, a topical GHK-Cu gel with standard care closed a median 98.5% of ulcer area, against 60.8% with the inactive gel.2 In ulcers treated right after cleaning, infections fell to 7% from 34%.26 A phase 2 trial of a 0.1% gel on standardized skin wounds in healthy adults is registered, with no results as of October 2026.27 In rats, knee injections improved ligament graft healing only while treatment continued.28 A 2026 review found no clinical data supporting GHK-Cu for musculoskeletal conditions.29 See What is GHK-Cu? and GHK-Cu for sale.
Glow and KLOW blends
Glow combines GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500, and KLOW adds KPV to the same three.3031 A PubMed search finds no study of either blend.32 A 2026 scoping review concluded that the claimed musculoskeletal recovery benefits of these peptides remain unsubstantiated by human trials.33 Read What is Glow Peptide Stack? and What is KLOW Peptide Blend?, or see Glow Peptide Stack for sale and KLOW Peptide Blend for sale.
KPV
KPV's healing evidence is from animals.11 Given by mouth, it reduced colitis in mice,12 and it sped recovery in other mouse colitis models.13 A KPV hydrogel helped rats with chemotherapy mouth sores regain food intake and weight.14 FDA found no human data and concluded there is a lack of evidence to evaluate KPV for wound healing or inflammatory conditions.11 See What is KPV? and KPV for sale.
Thymosin Alpha-1
Thymosin alpha-1 is an immune peptide, not a tissue-repair peptide.7 None of the 12 uses FDA reviewed in 2024 involved wound or injury healing, and FDA found a lack of evidence for all of them.8 Its advisory committee voted 17 to 4 against it.34 See What is Thymosin Alpha-1? and Thymosin Alpha-1 for sale.
Growth hormone axis peptides
HGH
In adults with large burns, two trials pooled by Cochrane found that growth hormone healed burn wounds about 9 days faster than placebo.35 The risk of high blood sugar was about 2.4 times higher.36 In prolonged critical illness, high-dose growth hormone roughly doubled deaths (39% against 20%, and 44% against 18%).37 The label contraindicates it in acute critical illness after surgery or trauma.38 See What is HGH? and HGH for sale.
GHRP-2
In a rat rotator cuff tear model, GHRP-2 improved tendon-to-bone healing on tissue, bone density and strength measures.39 In 33 men with prolonged critical illness, GHRP-2 alone restored growth hormone and IGF-1 but did not reduce protein breakdown, which needed added TRH.40 See What is GHRP-2? and GHRP-2 for sale.
GHRP-6
GHRP-6's protective findings come from animals, such as 78% less heart muscle death in pigs after a blocked artery and less liver and stomach damage in other models.4142 A 2026 review notes that these heart findings lack confirmation from human trials.43 See What is GHRP-6? and GHRP-6 for sale.
Ipamorelin
Ipamorelin sped gut recovery and stomach emptying in rats after abdominal surgery.4445 In a phase 2 trial of 114 bowel-surgery patients, it did not significantly shorten the time to a first tolerated meal (25.3 against 32.6 hours).46 See What is Ipamorelin? and Ipamorelin for sale.
CJC-1295
FDA's 2024 review lists no study in which any form of CJC-1295 was given to people with a disease or condition.47 Claims of cellular repair and post-injury recovery come from websites.48 A 2026 scoping review that included CJC-1295 found claimed musculoskeletal recovery benefits unsubstantiated by human trials.33 Read What is CJC-1295 with DAC?, What is CJC-1295 No DAC? and What is CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin?.
IGF-1 LR3
In steroid-treated rats, IGF-1 and especially its variants were anabolic, with LR3 about 2.5 times as potent as IGF-1, and they raised gut weight by up to 45%.4950 No human study of LR3 is registered.51 See What is IGF-1? and IGF-1 for sale.
MGF
In animals, MGF peptides sped healing of bone defects in rabbits and of injured Achilles tendons in rats.5253 In mice with bruised muscle, MGF reduced scarring without improving muscle fiber regrowth.54 A 2026 review lists no peer-reviewed human studies of MGF.43 See What is MGF? and MGF for sale.
Tesamorelin
A phase 2 trial of tesamorelin to improve function after peripheral nerve injury has been listed as recruiting since 2018.55 A 2026 sports medicine review calls growth hormone axis peptides, tesamorelin included, investigational in that field.56 See What is Tesamorelin? and Tesamorelin for sale.
AOD-9604
In a rabbit model of knee osteoarthritis, AOD-9604 injected into the joint enhanced cartilage regeneration.57 FDA did not evaluate osteoarthritis or osteoporosis uses for lack of information.58 It noted signals of negative effects on bone health in rats given the peptide by mouth for 13 weeks.59 See What is AOD-9604? and AOD-9604 for sale.

How to read this research
Healing claims for peptides lean on rats: a 2025 systematic review of BPC-157 in orthopaedic sports medicine counted 36 studies, 35 of them preclinical, and found no clinical safety data.73 Read each result for species, injury model and route: a peptide injected into a rat's abdomen after a surgical tendon cut is a long way from an athlete's strain.22 Ask whether there was a control group; the BPC-157 human studies had none.1 Check the molecule, too, since thymosin beta-4 results do not transfer automatically to TB-500.5 Advisory votes are not approvals. In July 2026 an FDA advisory committee voted 8 to 6, with one abstention, to recommend adding BPC-157, KPV and TB-500 to the substances pharmacies may compound, against FDA staff advice.7475 FDA must still decide whether to accept these nonbinding recommendations.75 Each profile page gives the compound's side effects and regulatory status. The muscle growth page covers muscle claims for the same peptides, and the safety basics guide explains how to weigh compounds that are not approved.
Frequently asked questions
What are the key differences between TB500 and BPC-157?
They are different molecules. BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid peptide based on a protein found in human gastric juice,3 while TB-500 is a short fragment of thymosin beta-4 (LKKTETQ).4 BPC-157 has many rat studies and three small human studies.1 TB-500 has a few animal and cell studies.1920 FDA's May 2026 review found no article in which it was given to people, and a later 2026 report describes 3 dental patients who received it with other drugs.524 WADA bans both at all times, BPC-157 as a non-approved substance and TB-500 as a growth factor.6
Is thymosin alpha 1 the same as TB500?
No. Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid immune peptide isolated from calf thymus in 1977,7 while TB-500 is a seven-amino-acid fragment of a different protein, thymosin beta-4.4 Thymosin alpha-1 was studied for infections, cancers and vaccine response, and FDA found a lack of evidence for the 12 uses it reviewed.8 TB-500 is promoted for tissue repair, but FDA found no article in which it was given to people.5
Can BPC-157 heal joints?
That has not been shown in a controlled human trial.9 In rats, BPC-157 improved healing of cut knee ligaments.10 The main human data are a retrospective review of knee injections in 16 patients with no control group.1 A 2026 systematic review rated the certainty of all the human evidence very low.1 USADA notes that no human clinical trial has established BPC-157's efficacy for any diagnosis or treatment.9
Does KPV help with gut health?
Only animal data exist: FDA's 2026 review found no clinical studies or human exposure data for KPV by any route.11 Given by mouth, KPV reduced colitis in mice,12 and in other mouse colitis models it led to earlier recovery and weight regain.13 A KPV gel also helped rats recover from chemotherapy mouth sores.14 In July 2026 an FDA advisory committee voted 8 to 6 to recommend it for pharmacy compounding, a recommendation that does not bind FDA.1575
