Seven items cover the handling of a freeze-dried peptide vial: one diluent, two kinds of syringe, three needle gauges and alcohol swabs. Every peptide in the store lists the same five supplies on its page: Bacteriostatic Water, Insulin Syringes (Pack of 10), the 3mL Syringe, Luer-Lok Tip, the 18G 1-Inch Needle and Alcohol Swabs (Pack of 2). The 23G x 1 Inch Needle and 25G x 1 Inch Needle are BD PrecisionGlide needles sold without a syringe. All seven supplies for sale are listed below with their prices.

Which supply does which job

Supply What it is One fact to know
Bacteriostatic water Sterile water with benzyl alcohol added as a preservative: 0.9% (9 mg per mL) or 1.1% on the FDA-approved label1 CDC says to date an opened multi-dose vial and discard it within 28 days unless the maker states another date2
Insulin syringes 1 mL syringes with their own fine needle, marked in units5 1 unit equals 0.01 mL on a U-100 scale3
3 mL Luer-Lok syringe A syringe read in mL, with a threaded tip A separate needle's hub screws onto the tip4
18G needle The widest of the three needles5 Listed by the supplier for drawing up and mixing
23G needle BD PrecisionGlide, turquoise hub6 Middle gauge of the three5
25G needle BD PrecisionGlide, blue hub7 Thinnest gauge of the three5
Alcohol swabs Pads wetted with 70% isopropyl alcohol8 CDC calls for an alcohol-wiped vial septum before each piercing9

Two rules apply to every syringe and needle here: a new needle and a new syringe for each vial entry,9 and used sharps straight into a sharps disposal container.10 The reconstitution guide, the storage guide and the reconstitution calculator cover lab handling. The injection guide explains how prescribed injections are given and how sharps are thrown away, and peptide supplies explained goes deeper on each item.

Guides and calculator

  • How to reconstitute a peptide vial

Reconstituting a lyophilized peptide step by step: the supplies, the diluent, the math and storage after mixing.

  • How subcutaneous injections are given

How prescribed subcutaneous injections are given: sites, rotation, sterile technique and sharps disposal, from clinical sources.

  • How to store peptides

How lyophilized and reconstituted peptides are stored: temperature, light, moisture and how long they keep, from manufacturer guidance.

  • Reconstitution calculator

Enter the peptide amount and the diluent volume and get the concentration per mL and per syringe unit. Shows the formula. For reference only.

Ordering facts

Supplies ship to addresses across the United States, and each supply's page shows where that item ships from. Supplies and peptides go in one cart. The shipping page explains ship-from origins, what is confirmed about timing and charges, and what to check when a parcel arrives. Returns follow the returns policy, and the lab results page lists lab documents for our peptides as they become available. Labs that order in volume can apply for a wholesale account. For anything else, use the contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Which supplies does a peptide vial need?

Every peptide page lists the same five: bacteriostatic water to dissolve the powder, insulin syringes and a 3 mL Luer-Lok syringe for measuring, an 18G needle for drawing up and mixing, and alcohol swabs for the vial stopper. The reconstitution guide puts them in order.

What is the difference between the 18G, 23G and 25G needles?

A bigger gauge number means a thinner needle, so 18G is the widest of the three and 25G the thinnest.5 All three are 1 inch long. The 23G and 25G are BD PrecisionGlide needles, and the supplier lists the 18G for drawing up and mixing rather than injecting. Each attaches to a syringe by its hub, for example by screwing onto the threaded tip of the 3 mL Luer-Lok syringe.4

Can I order supplies in bulk?

Yes. A wholesale account covers both peptides and supplies, and wholesale terms are confirmed on application through the wholesale application. Single items, such as one needle or one vial of bacteriostatic water, can also be ordered from each supply's own page, in the same cart as peptide vials.
