Four products sit here: HCG, HMG, Kisspeptin-10 and Gonadorelin. Their regulatory standing splits in two. HCG is a research vial of a hormone that is also sold in licensed US prescription medicines: FDA approved Pregnyl, which contains hCG, in 1976, and its labeled uses include inducing ovulation in certain anovulatory infertile women.12 HMG's licensed US form, Menopur (menotropins), is covered in the questions below.3

Kisspeptin-10 and gonadorelin have no approved human product on the US market.116 Gonadorelin's two human products, Factrel and Lutrepulse, are listed as discontinued on Drugs@FDA, and every gonadorelin label on DailyMed is for an animal drug.6789 In June 2026, FDA named a seller's research-labeled gonadorelin an unapproved new drug and quoted the seller's own "Spermatogenesis Research" page text.10 Women's and men's research is mapped in the women's goal guide and the testosterone goal guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is kisspeptin FDA approved?

No. A DailyMed search for kisspeptin returns no drug labels at all.11 FDA has listed kisspeptin-10 in 503A Category 2, its group of compounding substances with significant safety risks, since September 29, 2023, and it is still there on the list updated May 14, 2026.1213 FDA cites a possible risk of immune reactions, impurity and characterization problems, and too little safety information to know whether it would harm people.13

Does kisspeptin raise testosterone levels?

WADA's 2026 Prohibited List classes kisspeptin, along with gonadorelin, among the testosterone-stimulating peptides banned in males at all times.14 The sources behind this category page do not include the human studies themselves, so read What is Kisspeptin-10? for what trials measured and in whom. The Kisspeptin-10 vial sold here is for laboratory research only.

Is HMG the same as Menopur?

Not the HMG sold here. Menopur (menotropins for injection) is the licensed US prescription form of HMG: each vial holds 75 IU of FSH activity and 75 IU of LH activity for injection under the skin, and it was first approved on October 29, 2004.35 Its only US labeled use is developing multiple follicles and achieving pregnancy in ovulatory women during assisted reproduction, and a prescriber sets the dose.45 The HMG vial sold here is not Menopur; it is labeled for research use only.
