Two products sit here, PT-141 and Melanotan 2, and their regulatory standing differs. PT-141's compound has an approved prescription form, covered in the questions below.1 For Melanotan 2, FDA said in 2007 that the drug was not FDA approved and warned a company that was selling it illegally.79 FDA also cites published case reports of serious adverse events with melanotan II, including melanoma, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome, sympathomimetic toxidrome and priapism.8 Melanotan 2 also sits under collagen peptides.
What studies report on PT-141 is set out separately for men and women, with evidence levels and the limits of the approved label.

Both vials ship from the USA and Canada to addresses across the United States, with delivery terms on the shipping page. Returns are covered on the returns page, and testing documents are listed on the lab results page as they become available. The units converter helps when a study reports amounts in different units.
PT-141 is another name for bremelanotide.4 FDA approved bremelanotide on June 21, 2019 as Vyleesi, a prescription drug.12 Its label covers one use: acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women, meaning low sexual desire that causes marked distress or interpersonal difficulty and is not due to another medical or psychiatric condition, relationship problems, or a medication or drug substance.3 A prescriber sets the dose. The PT-141 vial sold here is not that product. It is a vial labeled: For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
The PT-141 vial is in this category, sold for laboratory research only, and its product page lists strengths, price and stock. The approved bremelanotide label says it is not indicated for this disorder in postmenopausal women or in men, and not indicated to enhance sexual performance.3 In August 2026 warning letters to two online peptide sellers, FDA called their research-labeled PT-141 an unapproved new drug.45
Not here. PT-141 is listed as a 10 mg vial, and no nasal spray is sold. The approved bremelanotide product comes only as a 1.75 mg/0.3 mL solution in a single-dose autoinjector for injection under the skin.62 The PT-141 education page covers the published research and the routes it used.
