CJC-1295 with DAC is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH).1 It joins a modified 29-amino-acid GRF(1-29) chain to an extra lysine that carries a maleimide group, the drug affinity complex (DAC), built to bind albumin in the blood.12 The vial holds 2 mg for laboratory research as freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder, the form FDA describes for CJC-1295 DAC.3 No form of CJC-1295 is part of an FDA-approved drug.4

Questions about CJC-1295 with DAC

About CJC-1295 with DAC

CJC-1295 with DAC copies the active part of GHRH, the signal that tells the pituitary gland to release growth hormone (GH).10 Four of its 29 core amino acids are swapped, at positions 2, 8, 15 and 27, and an extra lysine at the end carries the DAC that binds the blood protein albumin.102 ConjuChem Biotechnologies of Montreal developed it and first described it in 2005.11

This page lists CJC-1295 with DAC for sale as a 2 mg research vial; the selector above shows the CJC-1295 with DAC price and stock for each shipping origin. The name CJC-1295 is also used for a peptide without the DAC; FDA treats it as a separate substance and says DAC results cannot be applied to it.112 Read What is CJC-1295 with DAC? for the full source review before you buy CJC-1295 with DAC for a study.

Research highlights

  • Rats (2005): an injection under the skin gave 4 times the GH exposure of unmodified hGRF(1-29) over 2 hours, and the peptide was still in plasma after 72 hours.2
  • Healthy adults (2006, two placebo-controlled trials of 42 and 24 people): one injection raised mean GH 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and IGF-I 1.5- to 3-fold for 9 to 11 days, depending on dose. The estimated half-life was 5.8 to 8.1 days.132624
  • Healthy men (2006, 12 people): a week after one injection, baseline GH was 7.5 times higher, while the number and size of natural GH pulses did not change.1425
  • GHRH knockout mice (2006): daily dosing for 5 weeks gave normal body weight and length.15
  • Patients: the only patient trial, a phase 2 study in HIV-associated abdominal fat, was terminated after a participant died, and its data have not been published.1617
  • Animal safety (FDA review): repeated daily injections under the skin caused bleeding, inflammation and tissue death at the injection site in rats and dogs.18

Regulatory status

CJC-1295 is not FDA-approved, and no form of it has a USP or National Formulary monograph.4 On December 4, 2024, FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 0 to 13 against adding CJC-1295 DAC free base to the 503A bulks list, the list of substances pharmacies may compound with.19 FDA lists CJC-1295 among bulk substances that may present significant safety risks, citing possible immune reactions, problems with peptide impurities and characterization, and serious adverse events including increased heart rate and systemic vasodilatory reactions.20 The 2026 WADA Prohibited List bans it in sport at all times, under class S2.2.4.21 In Canada, a Health Canada advisory of April 9, 2026 names CJC-1295 among seized unauthorized injectable peptides and says research-use labelling does not make such products legal.22

Handling and storage

FDA warns that peptides like CJC-1295 can clump and break down when pH, heat or concentration changes, and that clumped (aggregated) peptide also raises the risk of immune reactions.723 FDA, citing a supplier source, reports a water solubility of about 2 mg/mL, so 2 mg of powder needs roughly 1 mL of liquid or more to dissolve.3 Lab steps and concentration math are in How to reconstitute CJC-1295 with DAC; the reconstitution calculator does the arithmetic for any diluent volume.

Frequently asked questions

Where does CJC-1295 with DAC ship from?

Orders ship from the USA and Canada to addresses across the United States. When a vial is listed with more than one shipping origin, the selector above lets you pick one and shows its stock before checkout. Delivery options and times are listed on the shipping page, so check it before you order.

How should CJC-1295 with DAC be stored when it arrives?

No approved label gives official storage instructions.4 FDA's 2024 review, citing supplier sources, describes the powder as stored at -20 °C (freezer), where FDA expects it to be stable, and the dissolved peptide as kept at 4 °C (refrigerator) in several small vials to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.63

What strengths of CJC-1295 with DAC are available?

Strengths listed: 2 mg, each a single vial of freeze-dried powder. CJC-1295 without DAC, which FDA treats as a separate active substance, has its own page as CJC-1295 No DAC,1 and a CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin blend is listed too, so check the name on the label.

Is there a certificate of analysis for CJC-1295 with DAC?

See the lab results page for available testing documents. For this compound, look for an identity result as well as purity: FDA calls inconsistent naming of CJC-1295 substances a safety risk,1 and a molecular mass result tells the DAC form (3647.2 g/mol) from the form without DAC (3367.95 g/mol).57

What supplies are used with a CJC-1295 with DAC vial?

The vial holds dry powder, so a lab dissolves it in a diluent such as bacteriostatic water, measures the solution with insulin syringes and wipes vial stoppers with alcohol swabs. Volumes and steps are in How to reconstitute CJC-1295 with DAC. These are lab handling steps, not directions for use in people.

Is CJC-1295 with DAC for human use?

No. It is sold for laboratory research, and every vial is labeled: For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. No form of CJC-1295 is part of an FDA-approved drug,4 and FDA found no studies in which any form was given to people with a disease or condition.8 The human studies that exist gave it to small groups of healthy adults for short periods.9
