NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found widely in nature, including in human cells, where it carries electrons in energy metabolism.12 It is a dinucleotide, not a peptide.1 Each vial holds 500 mg of NAD+ as a white freeze-dried solid, with no diluent. It is sold for laboratory research and is not FDA-approved.3

Bulk and wholesale orders

Labs that need bulk NAD+ for ongoing projects can apply for a wholesale account; NAD+ wholesale terms are confirmed on application. When comparing a NAD+ supplier for repeat orders, ask for the certificate of analysis that matches each lot.

Questions about NAD+

About NAD+

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is two nucleotides, one carrying nicotinamide and one carrying adenine, joined by a pyrophosphate link.1 It carries electrons by switching between an oxidized form (NAD+) and a reduced form (NADH), which puts it at the center of energy metabolism.12 Enzymes outside that redox work, including sirtuins and PARPs, also need it as a cofactor.2 Cells build NAD+ from the amino acid tryptophan or from vitamin precursors such as nicotinic acid, and recycle it from nicotinamide through a salvage pathway.2

NAD+ is not a peptide,1 even though the shop places it in the Anti-Aging Peptides and Cognitive Peptides categories. Those names describe research topics, not proven effects. The authors of a 2026 study state that human data on the efficacy and health effects of IV NAD+ remain limited.11 The NAD+ for sale here is one sealed vial of the freeze-dried solid described in the specifications. Research highlights

  • Slow IV infusion. In a 2019 randomized pilot of 11 healthy men aged 30 to 55 (8 given NAD+, 3 given saline), 750 mg infused over 6 hours caused no adverse events. Plasma NAD+ did not rise for at least the first 2 hours and was 398% above baseline only at the 6 hour mark.12
  • Daily IV infusions. In a 2026 retrospective review, all 6 clinic clients given 500 mg by IV daily for 4 days had moderate to severe symptoms during infusions. The symptoms ended with the drip.11
  • Three injection routes. In a 2026 preprint, groups of 4 to 6 adults received 100 mg by IV push, intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. No attributable unexpected adverse events were reported, and the paper has not been peer reviewed.13
  • Levels and age. In skin samples from 49 people, older men and women had lower NAD+. The pattern is a correlation, not proof that falling NAD+ drives aging.214
  • Oral precursor. In a 2018 randomized crossover trial (30 adults aged 55 to 79), oral nicotinamide riboside for 6 weeks was well tolerated and raised NAD+ metabolism.15
  • The wider picture. A 2023 review of human trials concluded that oral nicotinamide riboside has shown few clinically relevant effects.16

Regulatory status

FDA has not approved NAD+ as a drug.3 On FDA's 503A list updated May 14, 2026, it is in Category 1, substances still under evaluation.17 That is an enforcement policy, not an approval: FDA does not intend to act against licensed pharmacies or physicians compounding with such a substance, when its conditions are met, until a final rule decides its status.18 In October 2024, FDA warned that compounders were making IV products from food-grade NAD+ sold by repackagers.19 Reports to FDA after NAD+ injections included severe chills, shaking and vomiting, which FDA said fit excess endotoxins.19 This vial is sold for research use only.

Handling and storage

Before you buy NAD+ online, plan for cold, dry and dark storage from the day the vial arrives.7 The vial ships dry and is reconstituted before lab use. The NAD+ reconstitution page covers diluents, concentration math and storage after mixing, and the reconstitution calculator does the arithmetic. Timing matters after mixing: in 2022, one pharmacy recalled multi-dose 500 mg NAD+ vials that were subpotent or past their reconstitution time.20 Label each vial with the date and time it was mixed. The NAD+ price covers the vial alone; diluent and syringes are separate supplies.

Frequently asked questions

What strength is the NAD+ vial, and what does it cost?

NAD+ is listed in one strength, 500 mg per vial, at $75 each. The vial holds dry NAD+ only, so diluent, syringes and swabs come from the supplies section. If you need larger quantities, the wholesale page explains how to apply for bulk terms.

How does the vial ship, and what should happen when it arrives?

Choose the ship-from origin next to the strength on this page. The shipping page explains where orders ship from and what is confirmed so far about timing and charges, and damaged or wrong items go through the returns page. On arrival, check the seal and lot number, then move the vial to cold, dark storage the same day, because FDA reports that NAD degrades at room temperature.7

Is a certificate of analysis available?

See the lab results page for certificate of analysis information on this product. A certificate is most useful when its lot matches the vial you receive. Quality records matter with NAD+: as of October 2026, FDA's recall database lists 14 recalls of NAD or NADH products, most for lack of sterility assurance.8

Which supplies are used with a NAD+ vial?

The dry solid is dissolved before lab use, and one registered study used bacteriostatic water as the diluent.9 The NAD+ reconstitution page covers the concentration math. The supplies listed with this vial are bacteriostatic water, 3 mL Luer-Lok syringes, 18G 1 inch needles, insulin syringes and alcohol swabs.

Is this NAD+ meant for human use?

No. It is sold for laboratory research only, on the terms in the research use policy. NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug,3 and pharmacy-compounded NAD+ for a patient requires a valid patient-specific prescription under section 503A.10 Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved either.10 This page therefore gives no dose, schedule or use instructions for people.
