Kisspeptin-10 is a 10-amino-acid peptide, the fully active end piece of kisspeptin-54, a hormone made from the human KISS1 gene.12 It activates the kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R, also called GPR54); studies in rodents and monkeys show it acts directly on the brain's GnRH nerve cells.223 The vial holds 5 mg of Kisspeptin-10. Human studies have been small (4 to 46 people) and brief: single doses or infusions of up to 22.5 hours.45 No kisspeptin product is FDA approved.6

Questions about Kisspeptin-10

About Kisspeptin-10

Kisspeptin-10 is the last 10 amino acids of kisspeptin-54 (also called metastin): positions 112 to 121 of the human KISS1 precursor in UniProt, ending in phenylalanine amide.2 In rodent and monkey studies, kisspeptin acted directly on GnRH-releasing nerve cells in the hypothalamus through its receptor. That GnRH makes the pituitary release LH and FSH, the hormones that drive the testes and ovaries.3 GnRH itself is listed here as gonadorelin, in the Reproductive Health Peptides range.

This page lists kisspeptin for sale as a 5 mg research vial; the options above show the kisspeptin price, stock and shipping origins. For the mechanism, side effects and full source list, read What is Kisspeptin-10? before you buy kisspeptin online for a study.

Research highlights

  • Fast LH rise, 6 healthy men (2011): single IV doses raised LH rapidly, peaking within 45 minutes; the rise was significant at 4 of the 6 doses tested, but not at the highest.162425
  • Testosterone during infusion, 4 healthy men (2011): over a 22.5-hour IV infusion, testosterone climbed from 16.6 to 24.0 nmol/L.4
  • Sex differences, 11 men and 35 women (2011): IV doses raised LH in men, follicular-phase women responded much less, and injections under the skin did not significantly change their hormones.52627
  • Inherited NKB-pathway defects, 4 patients (2013): during a 12-hour IV infusion, all 4 regained pulsatile LH secretion, with no adverse events related to kisspeptin-10.17
  • Delayed puberty, 16 children (observational, 2020): all 8 whose LH rose by 0.8 mIU/mL or more after one IV test dose later progressed through puberty.1813
  • Head-to-head, healthy men (2015): in 3-hour IV infusions, kisspeptin-10 and kisspeptin-54 had similar effects, while GnRH raised LH and FSH about 3 times more than kisspeptin-10.282930

Regulatory status

Kisspeptin-10 is not FDA approved, and a DailyMed search returns no kisspeptin drug labels.6 On September 29, 2023, FDA put it on its list of compounding substances that may pose significant safety risks, naming possible immune reactions, peptide impurities and limited or no safety data.1431 It remains in 503A Category 2 on FDA's list updated May 14, 2026.11 The WADA 2026 Prohibited List names kisspeptin and its agonist analogues under S2.2.1, banned for male athletes in and out of competition.15 The listing carries this notice: For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Handling and storage

Trial teams reconstituted freeze-dried kisspeptin-10 in sterile 0.9% saline: 0.5 ml per vial in the 2015 UK study, and 1 mg in 5 ml in a 2011 study.1023 For IV infusions, it was dissolved in saline containing 5% gelofusine.32 Its sequence includes asparagine and tryptophan, which Bachem links to a limited shelf life, and GenScript lists tryptophan as prone to oxidation and arginine as prone to absorbing moisture.7192021 Lab steps are in the reconstitution guide, and the reconstitution calculator gives the concentration for a chosen diluent volume.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get kisspeptin?

Not as a prescription medicine. DailyMed lists no kisspeptin drug label, and FDA's compounding nominations list puts Kisspeptin-10 in Category 2, for substances that raise significant safety risks.611 Massachusetts General Hospital studies gave it under FDA oversight, one under an investigational new drug number.1213 This page lists it as a 5 mg research vial for laboratory work, not for use in people.

Where does Kisspeptin-10 ship from?

Orders ship from the USA and Canada to addresses across the United States. The options at the top of this page show the price and stock and let you pick a shipping origin before checkout. Delivery details are on the shipping page, and return terms are on the returns page.

How should Kisspeptin-10 be stored when it arrives?

There is no drug label with official storage directions for kisspeptin.6 For freeze-dried peptides in general, Bachem, a peptide maker, says room-temperature shipping and short-term refrigeration at 4 °C are acceptable, and advises long-term storage below -15 °C.19 Bachem also advises warming a cold vial to room temperature before opening it, because peptides tend to absorb moisture.1920 More in how to store peptides.

What strength is the Kisspeptin-10 vial?

The vial is listed as 5 mg of Kisspeptin-10. That amount is the starting figure for concentration math, and the reconstitution calculator works out the concentration from it and the volume of diluent added. Papers report kisspeptin-10 in mass or in moles: at 1302.4 g/mol, 1 mg is about 768 nanomoles.8

Is there a certificate of analysis for Kisspeptin-10?

Where lab documents exist for this vial, they are on the lab results page. As a benchmark, one trial used GMP-made kisspeptin-10 at 97% purity by HPLC,23 and a Massachusetts General Hospital team tested reconstituted aliquots for sterility, pyrogens, purity and concentration.12 FDA lists peptide impurities and characterization among its kisspeptin-10 concerns, so check which tests a certificate covers.14

What supplies are used with a Kisspeptin-10 vial?

The supplies listed with this vial are bacteriostatic water, a 3 mL Luer-Lok syringe, an 18G 1-inch needle, insulin syringes and alcohol swabs. Published trials dissolved kisspeptin-10 in sterile 0.9% saline.1023 These are lab handling supplies, not directions for use in people.

Is Kisspeptin-10 for human use?

No. It is sold for laboratory research only, and the listing carries this notice: For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. No kisspeptin medicine is approved in the US, and FDA says it does not have enough information to judge whether kisspeptin-10 would harm people.631 WADA also prohibits kisspeptin for male athletes at all times.15
