Livagen is a synthetic tetrapeptide, Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala (KEDA), that Vladimir Khavinson's St. Petersburg group designed from the amino acid makeup of liver extracts.12 It is best known for lab studies on chromatin in white blood cells from elderly donors.34 No clinical trial is registered.5 The vial holds 20 mg of freeze-dried powder for laboratory research.6

| Storage | The supplier advises putting the sealed vial in a refrigerator as soon as it arrives, shielded from light.6 GenScript, a peptide maker, says peptides containing Lys, Glu or Asp, as Livagen does, tend to absorb moisture and belong in a tightly capped vial.9 |
Labs that need Livagen for larger cell culture or animal series can apply for a wholesale account. Volume terms are confirmed on application.
Livagen is a lab-made peptide of four amino acids: lysine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and alanine (Lys-Glu-Asp-Ala, or KEDA).12 Khavinson's group made it by directed chemical synthesis, based on amino acid analysis of liver polypeptide preparations.1 Most studies come from the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology and a collaborating genetics group at Tbilisi State University in Georgia.1313 This page lists Livagen for sale as a 20 mg research vial, with stock for each shipping origin in the selector above.
PubMed holds 19 records for Livagen, and ClinicalTrials.gov lists no trial.145 Its "human" data come from blood cells taken from elderly donors and treated in the lab.34 Before you buy Livagen for a study, read What is Livagen? for the full findings, including results that conflict.
Livagen is not FDA approved: an October 2026 search of FDA's approval data found no product with it as an active ingredient.11 It is not on FDA's May 14, 2026 list of bulk substances nominated for compounding under section 503A.17 Health Canada's August 1, 2025 advisory lists Livagen among unauthorized injectable peptide drugs seized from and sold by a Canadian seller.12 The advisory says injectable peptides are regulated as prescription drugs in Canada and that selling unauthorized drugs is illegal there, and it warns that unauthorized injectable drugs may cause infection and allergic reactions.12 WADA's 2026 list does not name Livagen, but its class S0 bans at all times any substance not covered by the list's other sections that has no government approval for human therapeutic use.18 The 2027 list, in force January 1, 2027, adds peptides to the S0 examples.19
The supplier says to mix Livagen with bacteriostatic water, keep the mixed vial in the refrigerator and use it within 30 days.6 That is supplier guidance, not published stability data.6 GenScript warns that repeated freeze-thaw cycles degrade peptides.9 It suggests splitting a stock into aliquots sized for each experiment, which also limits air exposure.9 Livagen contains Asp, a residue GenScript links to an especially short life in solution.9 The reconstitution guide lists the lab steps, and the reconstitution calculator gives the concentration for a chosen diluent volume.
Orders ship from the USA and Canada to addresses across the United States. The options at the top of the page show each shipping origin offered and its stock status before the vial goes in your cart. Delivery details are on the shipping page, and the returns page sets out return terms.
Refrigerate the sealed vial as soon as it arrives and keep it shielded from light, as the supplier advises.6 For longer storage, GenScript's general condition for freeze-dried peptides is -20 °C, away from bright light.9 Let a cold vial warm to room temperature before you open it, weigh out what is needed quickly and reseal it tightly.9 More detail is in How to store peptides.
See the lab results page for the store's certificate information. A Livagen certificate should match PubChem's identity data: formula C18H31N5O9, molar mass 461.5 g/mol, CID 87919683.8 Check whether it reports net peptide content as well as purity. Bachem notes that peptide powder may be only 70 to 90% peptide by weight, because it also holds counter-ions and water.10
This vial is listed with bacteriostatic water as a diluent, plus a 3 mL Luer-Lok syringe and an 18G 1-inch needle for transferring liquid. Insulin syringes measure small volumes, and alcohol swabs clean the stopper. The water is not included with the vial.6 The reconstitution calculator works out the concentration for a chosen volume.
No. The supplier sells Livagen only for lab research, and its label rules out human and veterinary use.6 No human dose is established, and no Livagen trial is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov.115 Its human data come from blood cells taken from elderly donors and treated in the lab, not from people given Livagen.34 Health Canada has named Livagen in an advisory on unauthorized injectable peptides.12
