No. There is no FDA-approved TB-500 product, so there is no label and no labeled human dose.1 FDA also found no clinical studies in humans that measured how TB-500 is absorbed or how it acts, by any route.1 It found no human studies of its effectiveness or safety either.1 Any TB-500 dosage figure for people therefore has no controlled human study behind it.12
The figures below come from animal studies, cell studies and one uncontrolled case series.12 Others come from trials of a different molecule, full-length thymosin beta-4.1 Each dose served its study's own purpose, such as measuring blood levels or testing tendon repair.13 None of them is an established dose for people.1
| Study | Model | Dose and route | Schedule | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Biçer 20263 | 32 male rats after Achilles tendon repair, 8 per group | 60 µg/kg/day by intraperitoneal injection | Daily for 4 weeks | Tendon healing; a BPC-157 arm used 10 µg/kg/day and a fourth arm combined both |
| Rahaman 2024, as summarized by FDA1 | Young adult (6-week-old) male rats | 50 mg/kg by intraperitoneal injection | Single injection | Find breakdown products in urine |
| Ho 201214 | Thoroughbred geldings (horses) | 10 mg by subcutaneous injection | Single injection | Measure blood levels for doping control |
| Rahaman 2024, as summarized by FDA1 | Cultured fibroblasts | 50 µg/mL in the culture medium | 8 hours | Scratch-wound test; no significant effect |
| Philp 2003, as summarized by FDA (LKKTETQ without the acetyl group, not TB-500)1 | 26-month-old female mice with skin wounds | 50 µl of a 0.01% solution on each wound | Day of wounding and 48 hours later | Wound closure |
| Froum 20262 | 3 patients with lower jaw nerve injury | 10 mg TB-500 with 4 mg ARA-290, 1 mg BPC-157 and other medicines, injected under the lining of the mouth | Weekly for 4 weeks | Uncontrolled case series |
The case series authors stress that their outcomes should not be read as evidence that the treatment worked.2 Its 10 mg of TB-500 was one part of a mixed injection given locally in the mouth.2 So the series cannot separate the effect of TB-500 from the other drugs.2 The rat tendon authors say their results still need dose-optimization and longer-term studies.3
FDA found websites selling TB-500 as 2, 3, 5, 10 and 15 mg powders for reconstitution, labeled for research use only.1 Those figures give the amount of powder in a vial, not an amount for a person. The withdrawn compounding nomination that FDA reviewed described a 3 mg/mL powder for injection under the skin or into muscle.1 That is a product strength, not a dose, and FDA found no human data for either route.1
These trials tested the full 43-amino-acid parent protein, not TB-500. FDA states that the two are not the same substance.1
| Trial | Participants | Dose, route and schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Ruff 20105 | 40 healthy volunteers in 4 cohorts of 10 | One IV dose of 42, 140, 420 or 1260 mg (or placebo), then the same dose daily for 14 days |
| Sosne 2015, phase 26 | 9 patients with severe dry eye | 0.1% eye drops (RGN-259) or vehicle, 6 times daily for 28 days |
| Guarnera 2010, phase 27 | 73 patients with venous leg ulcers | Applied topically; the authors highlighted a 0.03% dose |
The units differ because the studies differ. The unit µg/kg/day means micrograms per kilogram of body weight per day, so 60 µg/kg/day equals 0.06 mg/kg each day. The single 50 mg/kg injection in the rat metabolism study was about 830 times that daily amount per kilogram.13 Its goal was to find breakdown products in urine, not to treat an injury.1
The horse study gave a fixed 10 mg, not an amount scaled to body weight.1 It was given to measure blood levels and metabolites, not to treat any condition.14 Figures in µg/mL or percent describe a concentration in a culture dish, on a wound or in eye drops. They are not whole-body doses for an animal or a person.
The blood-level data in these sources come from horses.1 After 10 mg under the skin, plasma TB-500 peaked at 0.05 and 0.08 ng/mL between 60 and 120 minutes.1 It could no longer be quantified 6 to 10 hours after dosing.1 The test method could detect the peptide at 0.02 ng/mL in plasma and 0.01 ng/mL in urine.4 It was built for doping control, to test horse urine and plasma for TB-500.4
In rats, urine held acetylated breakdown fragments after a single injection.1 Lab work traced fragments such as Ac-LKKTET, Ac-LKKTE, Ac-LKKT, Ac-LKK and Ac-LK, formed as amino acids are lost from the tail end.1 With no human pharmacokinetic studies, TB-500's half-life, bioavailability and detection window in people are unknown.1

There is no established human dosage.1 TB-500 has no FDA-approved label, and FDA found no human pharmacokinetic studies.1 Published doses come mainly from animal studies, such as 60 µg/kg/day by injection for 4 weeks in rats after tendon surgery and one 10 mg injection in horses.31 Each was chosen for its study's purpose, and FDA found no human data, so their safety in people is unknown.1
No published study has measured it in people: FDA found no human pharmacokinetic studies.1 In horses given one 10 mg injection under the skin, blood levels peaked 1 to 2 hours later.1 They could no longer be quantified after 6 to 10 hours.1 The test could pick up the peptide at 0.01 ng/mL in horse urine.4 How long it stays detectable in a person is unknown.1
No safe way to use TB-500, alone or with other peptides, has been established, because FDA found no human data.1 On its own it has been studied only in animals and cells, for example in rats after tendon repair.13 The one human report in these sources used it mixed with BPC-157, ARA-290 and other medicines in 3 patients.2 Its authors say causality cannot be established.2
Not from human studies. FDA's May 2026 review found no article in which TB-500 was given to people.1 A 2026 case series, published after that review, gave 3 patients TB-500 mixed with other drugs.2 It had no control group.2 Any schedule for people therefore lacks controlled evidence.1 The doses that do exist are listed in the tables on this page.
