Citrus Orange Spritz with a THC Tincture

Orange, lemon and lime meet alcohol-free bitters and a measured THC tincture in a bright, liquor-free spritz built to spread the dose through the glass.

This THC spritz is a bright glass of orange, lemon and lime with a grown-up bitter edge and no liquor. The tincture is shaken into the juices before the ice and soda to spread the dose through the glass.

Dosing Your THC Spritz

Work out milligrams per milliliter from your tincture's label (the recipe card shows how), then measure with an oral syringe or marked dropper rather than eyeballing it. Shake it in before the ice, then sip slowly. Swallowed THC is slow to show up, sometimes taking 2 hours; let that window pass before mixing another glass. This spritz is for adults 21 and older. Ingredients

Fresh-squeezed citrus tastes brightest, and lemon sparkling water adds fizz without sugar. Alcohol-free orange bitters bring the bitter edge. If you sweeten, use plain syrup, not an infused one, so the tincture remains the only dose. Use your own tincture (tincture basics) or look for a labeled one when you browse High Society's menu; selection varies by location.

How to Mix It

Shake the juices, bitters and tincture hard for 10 seconds with no ice. An alcohol-based tincture disperses readily, but an oil-based one won't dissolve in juice, so shake well and stir between sips. Pour over ice and finish with sparkling water.

Batching and Labeling

Mixing to order keeps every glass measured. For a pitcher, add a known total, stir before each pour and label it with the dose per glass. Then park it on its own fridge shelf, apart from plain drinks and away from kids and pets.

Variations

Blood orange deepens the color and adds a berry note; grapefruit brings a sharper bite. Grapefruit can change how some medicines work, so if you take any, ask a pharmacist first. Other alcohol-free bitters change the finish. More ideas: our frozen strawberry canna-nade and pineapple-grapefruit THC sparkler.

Frequently asked questions

Do bitters contain alcohol?

Most classic cocktail bitters do. They're concentrated extracts made with strong alcohol, so a dash adds a trace: small, but not zero. To keep the glass alcohol-free, buy bitters labeled alcohol-free or leave them out. Skip liquor too, since alcohol plus cannabis is likely to leave you more impaired than either on its own.

How much tincture goes in a spritz?

Let your label decide. At 5 mg per milliliter, 0.5 ml adds about 2.5 mg, which matches Health Canada's lower-risk advice to pick edibles holding no more than 2.5 mg of THC. Michigan labels also note that actual THC may vary by 10%.

What does orange bitters add?

Depth. Orange bitters layer bitter peel and warm spice over the juice, so the spritz tastes less like breakfast juice and more like a before-dinner sipper. A dash or two is plenty. Without bitters, a long strip of orange zest twisted over the glass adds some of that aroma.
