Ordering Cannabis Online for Pickup at High Society, Step by Step

Pick a store, fill your cart, choose a pickup time and bring your ID. Here's how ordering ahead works at High Society, from the first click to curbside.

You can order cannabis online from High Society and pick it up at the store, either inside or at the curb. Browse your store's menu, add what you want, choose a pickup time and check out with your details, then bring a valid ID when you collect. This step-by-step guide covers each stage, from choosing a store to paying and earning points.

Before you order cannabis online: age, ID and your store

A few things to sort out first:

  • Age: recreational shopping is available to individuals 21 years or older. Individuals 18 and older with a medical marijuana card can also make purchases.
  • ID: bring a current photo ID issued by a government, or your passport. Michigan requires adult-use stores to check ID before every sale, so bring it each time you pick up.
  • Your store: High Society has eight Michigan stores, in Big Rapids, Birch Run, Charlotte, East Lansing, Lenox, Mount Pleasant, New Buffalo and Saline. Each one has its own menu, and you collect your order at the store you choose. Addresses, hours and directions are on each store's page in our store locations.
  • Limits: a licensed adult-use store may sell no more than 2.5 ounces in a single transaction, with no more than 15 grams of that as concentrate. Keep a large cart within those limits.

Ordering ahead suits people who like to know what they want before they arrive, and it's handy when you're fitting a stop into a busy day.

Step 1: Choose your High Society store and open its menu

Head to our online shop and pick the store you'll collect from. Each store has its own online dispensary menu showing what that store carries, so choose the right one before you start adding items.

Not sure what to get? Each store's page lists a phone number you can call for assistance. Our budtenders are also happy to answer questions when you arrive, whether you're new or a regular.

Step 2: Browse categories and compare products

Menus are organized by category. You'll find flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, vape pens and edibles, and some store menus also list topicals, tinctures, accessories and apparel.

When you compare products, look at:

  • Format: how you plan to use it, whether that's smoking, vaping or eating.
  • Potency: THC and CBD as a percentage for flower and vapes, or in milligrams for edibles.
  • Size: the weight, or the number of servings in the package.
  • Price per gram or per serving: the fairest way to compare different sizes.

Strain labels such as indica, sativa and hybrid are a starting point rather than a promise, so give potency and format just as much weight. If you're new to a format, choose a lower-potency or smaller option first. Edibles are slow to start working, so begin with a small serving and wait before having more.

Before you add anything, check our deals page.

Step 3: Add items and set quantities

Select a product, choose the quantity and put it in your cart. Repeat until you have everything you need, then open the cart to review it.

A few quick checks before you move on:

  • Make sure each item's size and quantity are what you meant to order.
  • Keep the total within Michigan's 2.5-ounce per-transaction limit.
  • Double-check that you're ordering from the store you plan to visit.

Each store's menu is separate. If something you want isn't on your usual store's menu, another store may carry it, but the order would be picked up at that store.

Step 4: Choose a pickup time

Next, schedule a pickup time that works for you. Choose a time within the store's opening hours, which are listed on each store's page, and leave yourself enough time to get there.

If your plans change, reach out to the store directly. Its contact details are on its location page.

Step 5: Check out with your details

Complete your order by entering your details at checkout:

  • First-time customers fill in their details and need to present a valid ID.
  • Returning customers can log in for a quicker checkout.
  • Curbside: if you'd like curbside pickup, let the store know during checkout.

Step 6: Pick up in store or at the curb

In-store pickup. Head to the store at your pickup time. Check in with our security and front desk team when you arrive, and have your ID ready, since the store checks it before every sale. If you'd like to hear about discounts and special offers, you can share your phone number and email with us.

Curbside pickup. If you asked for curbside, we'll send you a text when your order is ready, which makes for an easy, discreet collection. Keep your ID handy. Curbside cannabis pickup is offered at every High Society store in Michigan, along with in-store pickup and in-store shopping.

What to bring: your valid ID and your payment.

New to dispensaries? Our first-visit walkthrough walks you through a visit. If a product ever has a quality or functional problem, call the store or visit the store where you bought it, and our team will help.

Once you have your order, keep it sealed and out of reach while you drive home. Michigan doesn't allow cannabis use while driving or in public places, and if you're visiting from out of state, enjoy it here: don't travel across state lines with cannabis.

Paying for your order

Cash works at every High Society store. Other payment options vary by store, so check with the store you're ordering from before you head over; its phone number is on its location page.

Michigan adds a 10% excise tax and the 6% sales tax to adult-use purchases, so factor taxes into your budget. Registered medical patients don't pay the 10% excise tax; only the 6% sales tax applies.
